Bill Hampel currently serves as CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hampel Oil Distributors. His responsibilities include oversight of all long-term strategic planning, finance, sales, operations, and vendor relations. Bill was involved in the original financing of the company when it was incorporated in 1976. After a seven year career as a consulting engineer he joined the company in 1980, and has been active in leadership roles ever since. He served in the US Army and was honorably discharged. Bill holds engineering degrees from Wichita State University and Purdue, and is a licensed professional engineer in the state of Kansas.

Bob Hampel is the Former Director of Corporate Development for Hampel Oil Distributors. He entered the company in 1976 at its founding.  He has held several jobs in the company from tankwagon driver to sales to construction management.  Bob is a Wichita State graduate with a BS in Biology.  He retired in January 1, 2018 but is still an active member on the Board of Directors.

Ken Hampel began his career with Hampel Oil, December 1971.  When Al Hampel was a commissioned agent for Standard Oil, he asked son Ken to join him. Over the next four years, the two worked together and laid the foundation for the family owned company that incorporated in 1976.  Ken has held several jobs over the years which include transport driver, warehouse manager, national sales manager and Vice President.  Ken currently works with fellow employees providing sales support and mentoring, he stresses the importance of customer service and core values of the company.  

Ed Hampel has been with Hampel Oil since its founding.  He was one of the three founding brothers along with their father Al Hampel that began operations in Valley Center Kansas in 1976. He has held every job from truck driver to Vice President and everything in between.  Ed’s current role is Director of Purchasing and Pricing. He has taken an active role in the leadership succession of Hampel Oil.  Ed’s desire is to support and encourage a successful ownership transition to the next generation of Hampel family members.

Scott Hampel currently serves as President at Hampel Oil Distributors. His responsibilities include oversight of all long-term strategic planning, finance, sales, and operations. He is also responsible for maintaining a variety of external relationships with our customers and vendors. In 2005, Scott graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration & Accounting and completed an Executive MBA at Texas Christian University in 2019.

Danny Hampel currently serves as Chief Operating Officer at Hampel Oil Distributors. He is responsible for overseeing logistics, quality procedures, customer service, and safety of the operations group. He is also responsible for maintaining a variety of external relationships with our customers and vendors. Danny holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Wichita State University and a Masters of Business Administration from Friends University.   

Jon Hampel currently serves as Controller at Hampel Oil Distributors. He is responsible for overseeing financial and management reporting as well as internal processes and controls related to accounts payable, inventory, payroll, and banking. He is also integral to maintaining a variety of external relationships with our bankers, insurance brokers, and audit and tax advisors. In 2008, Jon graduated from Wichita State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a focus in Accounting. He originally started at Hampel Oil as a staff accountant and since has held management roles in both sales and operations prior to taking his current role as Controller. Currently, Jon is pursuing an Executive MBA at UMKC with an expected graduation in May 2020.

Ted Dallas currently serves as Vice President of Sales at Hampel Oil Distributors. He is responsible for overseeing sales and marketing activities, including sales budgeting, promotions and CRM. In addition, Ted provides a critical role in oversight and maintenance of Hampel’s business relationship with its lubricant and fuel suppliers. Ted joined Hampel in 2011, and since that time has helped guide the company through a period of significant growth, including a major geographical expansion into the Northeastern US. Ted holds a business degree from Northeastern Oklahoma State University and a Mini MBA from Wichita State University. Ted has more than 25 years of experience in the lubricants and fuels industry.

Steve Burns currently serves as Vice President of Business Development and is responsible for leading Hampel’s strategic business development initiatives and provides leadership for market expansion for our Midstream and Compression Services Division. Steve is also responsible for building and maintaining a division alongside our Regional Operations and Sales Management that drives continual profitable growth for Hampel Oil Distributors, Inc. Some of his other duties include handling customer relationship and satisfaction, strategic vendor relationships, and having the industry knowledge needed to accomplish these goals. Steve Joined Hampel Oil Distributors in Oklahoma City in June of 2000.

Dan Quaney currently serves as Vice President of Business Development – Agriculture Division. He is responsible for developing and maintaining the Hampel Oil Ag customer base and providing direction to the Ag sales team. He also maintains Hampel Oil’s relationship with Exxon/Mobil in all sectors. Dan started with Hampel Oil in 1985 as a fuel tank wagon driver and moved into Ag sales as a driver/salesman in 1990. In 2008 he was promoted to Rural Region Manager in charge of eight rural branches throughout Kansas and Oklahoma. He was promoted to Vice President – Ag Division in 2017.
